  • What are the average living costs at university?
This ultimately depends upon the country and area that your children will be attending university and the standard of living you would like them to enjoy whilst studying. Whether working through a university degree or funded by grants and the student loan facility, all of the parents we speak to want to have the option to help out with more than just fees if they have the capacity. Planning from as early as possible is the best way to ensure this flexibility exists at the pertinent time.
  • When is the best time to start an education fee plan?
The simple answer to this question is that it is never too early to start, but it can become too late. A 15 to 20-year period to securely grow your funds into a sustainable education fee plan is generally the time period we look at. What needs to be assessed is sources of income and your entire financial picture to see where structural efficiencies can be implemented. This requires a full review and analysis, to inquire about our process please contact us.
  • How much does a 3-year university course cost?
There are many variables in the cost of a university education, one key fact to remember is that for the past 25 years the cost of a university education has risen at an average of 6% per year. This far outstrips western inflation figures of roughly half this amount. International undergraduate tuition fees vary considerably, starting at around £10,000 (~US$14,130) and going up to £38,000 (~US$53,700) or more for medical degrees. One fact to remember is if you are an expatriate and are looking to send your young adults to a university in a foreign country they may well be treated as a foreign student and have to pay vastly increased fees.
